We will once again be meeting at the Royal Canadian Legion at 2500 Veterans Drive in Mount Brydges at 9:00 am. Setup for vendors at 8:00 am. Coffee and cookies will be provided.

We will once again have our world class, well almost world class, silent auction, where you can sell your unwanted items and end up with someone else’s unwanted stuff. Bring along clocks, watches, parts, books, some money and have fun.

The program:

Ted Arthur has volunteered to look after the display.

For the theme, Ted has chosen your favourite “A” clock or watch.

In case you may not think you have an “A” clock here’s a list of common American makers you could choose from.

Abbott, Samuel Montpelier, VT 1810 Adams, E.W. Seneca Falls, NY 1830 - 1850

American Clock Co. NYC 1850s

American Chime Clock Co. Nicetown, PA 1916 - 1922

Ansonia Brass & Copper Co. Ansonia, CT 1854 - 1878

Ansonia Brass & Clock Co. Ansonia, CT 1851 - 1878

Ansonia Clock Co. NY, NY 1879 - 1929

Atkins Clock Co. 1855 - 1858 Atkins, Whiting & Co. Bristol, CT

Arthur Pequegnat would also be a good Canadian choice.

Antoine Brocot Bring in a clock with a Brocot escapement.

Now if you’re really stuck for a display item, check out these links and “click”. So….. with all these suggestions, we can look forward to everyone bringing in a display item.

Also on tap:

Ian Smith has a short talk lined up on American clockmaking with an emphasis on Ansonia.

Dave Chalk and I changed a weight cable on the Aylmer town hall clock this week so I’m going to do a short ppt on the story behind this clock.

Looking forward to see you on June 4th. If you can get there early and help set up tables, make coffee etc., it would be appreciated. If you need any more information, or have questions, let me know.
