April 6, 2025 Meeting
Our guest speaker, Don Sinclair (pictured on the right), gave a demonstration of painting clock dial faces during a well attended meeting held on April 6 at the Mount Brydges Legion Hall.
The dial is the most noticeable part of the clock. It should look attractive and authentic, so as not to detract from the clock's appearance.
Don provided several examples of his work in dial face painting that he did for Chapter members and others. He then went on to demonstrate the fourteen-step process he uses to paint dial faces. The process is described in detail in his six-page handout which is available in the gallery below.

The meeting opened with President Wayne Marten welcoming the robust group of well over forty attendees who enjoyed refreshments provided by Madison Laprise, Charlie MaGee, Melody Arnhold, and Patrick Collins. The mart was well provisioned with many wonderful items for sale.
Richard Dumala asked members to check for the newsletter in their "clutter" or "junk mail" folders. Future emails to members may be personalized to help minimize club related emails not making into "inboxes". He also suggested members rely on the club's website (nawcc92.com) for information about upcoming meetings. The website is always updated with current information about our activities.
Donna Dickson provided an update on the Lemp clock that was successfully purchased at a recent auction by the Tavistock and District Historical Society. Donna shared a humorous account of getting the clock to work properly using shims that were provided by the clock's builder, John K. Lemp. After a thorough cleaning and adjusting the shims to its new surroundings the clock is reportedly ticking happily away. Donna also noted that the historical society now knows where all the Lemp clocks are.
The Lemp clock can be viewed at the Tavistock and District Historical Society on 37 Maria Street in Tavistock. They are opened every third Saturday of the month from 1 to 4 or by special appointment. Details are available on the Society website.
