October 6, 2024 Meeting
We're Still Ticking
Twenty-nine dear souls attended today's meeting. Silent Auction activity was brisk and dollars were on the move . Hopefully, future attendance will improve. We have a great and active club with much potential. Do not be discouraged by rumors of our demise! It just ain't true!
Wayne Marten was acclaimed as our new President.

Seventy-seven years young and still ticking! Wayne's clock obsession began when he bought his first two timepieces at a family auction. At 12 years old, he balanced them on his bicycle and pedaled seven miles home. He's been hooked on clocks ever since—time flies when you're tinkering!
Born and raised in Wisconsin by German/Russian parents, he made a daring escape from the Nixon draft in '74, heading straight into Ontario. Clock repairs became his side gig in 1976, fixing timepieces for a jeweller in Lambeth, Ontario. When he retired, Wayne grabbed his tools faster than you could say "cuckoo clock."
His clock-repair know-how? A mix of library deep-dives, chats with fellow clock fanatics, and, of course, some modern Googling. He retired in March 2023 after 52 years as a self-employed locum pharmacist. Time well spent!
Madison Laprise remains our treasurer.
Brian Melick stays as director of membership...he would truly appreciate someone to help with lanyards and identity tags.
Richard Dumala stays on as webmaster and newsletter producer.
Kudos to Charles MaGee for maintaining our friendship with the Mt.Brydges Legion!
We need individual members to commit to providing cookies/bakery and make coffee for the few meetings...expenses are reimbursed.
Our meeting dates for the next year were announced. Mark your calendars ...

In keeping with our meeting theme of Seth Thomas clocks, Gerry Koolen, Brian Beckberger and Ian Smith showed off their Seth Thomas treasures.
We are pleased to welcome two new members to our chapter: Martin Yates and Mark Winter.
